The game was first revealed in an X (Twitter) post[2] and account[3], on July 17, 2024. The release date of Box Bop was August 23, 2024, which was announced on August 4, 2024 in a post from @BoxBopGame on X(Twitter)[4] that came along with a teaser trailer for a prototype of the game.[5]
Development
Box Bop was developed by DPOF Studios, with additional work done by PerditumGames, who also did the publishing. The game was in initial development for around a month before it's initial announcement on July 17, 2024. Being a fairly simple game that is meant to evolve in updates, the game only needed 1–3 months of development before public release.[citation needed]
