Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT), also known as Shirikisho La Ngum La Tanzania, is Tanzania’s national boxing federation, headquartered in Dar es Salaam. The federation’s president is Lukelo Anderson Willilo, while Makore Reuben Mashaga serves as Secretary General.[1]
In 2015, the BFT planned to expand the national team’s coaching staff by adding three coaches to assist with preparations for the African Games in Congo-Brazzaville, while the national team also planned international preparation competitions in Zambia and Serbia.[2]
In 2015, the BFT selected ten boxers for the African Games, but stated that it lacked the funds to finance their travel to Congo-Brazzaville and expected financial support from the government.[3]
In February 2023, Anderson Lukelo Willilo was elected president of the BFT after receiving 19 votes against three for Samuel Christopher Sumwa, while Makore Mashaga was elected Secretary General and Asha George was elected chairperson of the Women and Youth Committee.
