BOXRAW
Boxraw is a luxury sportswear and lifestyle apparel brand born from boxing. Founded in 2016 in Coventry, England; Boxraw now offers worldwide shipping and is exclusively stocked in JD sports across the UK.
LAUNCH
Boxraw garnered a cult following within the Boxing world UK and abroad before officially launching online on November 7th 2016. Boxraw initially marketed all products under the moniker BOXRAW but have since expanded to also using BXRW, LOMA X BXRW and BOXRAW Women.
COLLECTIONS
Whitaker – The Whitaker tracksuit is marketed as the ‘flagship’ collection of tracksuits from Boxraw and the name is a hat-tip to former four-time and undisputed World Champion (2) Pernell ‘Sweet-Pea’ Whitaker.[1]. Upon initial launch, the Whitaker line was available in Black and Navy; Boxraw have since gone on to launch further colours including Wine, Olive, Gun and extensions into the LOMA X BXRW range.
Dempsey – Inspired by Hall of Fame boxer and former Heavyweight Champion Jack Dempsey[2]– The Dempsey Range is one of the first offerings from Boxraw and remains one of their most recognisable collections. The collections consists of Hoodies, Sweatshirts and Sweatpants in Black, Grey and Navy colourways.
SMRT-TEC – Boxraw’s SMRT-TEC range has gone some way to becoming their most prominent line – heavily featured across JD outlets as well as being a preferred workout garment amongst World Champions such as Vasily Lomachenko[3], Billy Joe Saunders [4]& many more. Boxraw launched their SMRT-TEC range initially with only black and white options, but have expanded into offering further colourways.
Pep The Pep-shorts are named after a boxer viewed by many as the greatest featherweight of all time, Guglielo Papaleo or Willie Pep[5]as he was more commonly known. The Pep-Shorts are made of shorts welded to compression SMRT-TEC leggings. Launched on February 7, 2017 in a Black, Boxraw have gone on to introduce 3 further colourway; Black/White, Grey/White and most recently the LOMA X BXRW range include Navy/Yellow Pep-Shorts.
Hand wraps Boxraw launched their 4.5m professional Handwraps on the 15th of September 2017 in 8 Colourways; Black, White, Grey, Neon Purple, Neon Red, Neon Blue, Neon Yellow & Neon Green.
Hagler November 22nd 2017, Boxraw launched the Hagler Sauna suit, of course the name inspired by the great Marvin Hagler[6]. Marketed for professional use only, the Sauna suit offers assistance to athletes trying to cut weight. There are many scientifically proven benefits to wearing Sauna suits, such as a boost in muscular hypertrophy, increased circulation, warmer muscles which prevent injuries and many more. (3) Since launch, the Sauna suit has been seen in the media worn by World Champions such as Oscar Valdez[7]during training camp for fights.
Womens Boxraw officially launched their Women’s range on February 12th 2018 offering a Women’s line of Whitaker tracksuits in Black and Wine colourways.
LOMA X BXRW
On November 28, 2017, Boxraw released a teaser video to the public via their Instagram account announcing a collaboration project with Lomachenko[8], who at the time was widely regarded as the best P4P fighter on the planet – No other details about the campaign were given, simply – LOMA X BXRW. On the eve of ‘the greatest fight in the sport’s history’ as described by ESPN, Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Guillermo Rigondeaux (1) – Boxraw launched their collaborative campaign LOMA X BXRW. Initially offering a twist to their flagship Whitaker tracksuits in special Loma Colourways - Navy/Yellow and Black/Orange with limited stock which sold out in 12 days. On February 9th 2018, LOMA x BXRW Pep shorts were launched in the same Navy/Yellow colourway as the tracksuits with 5 LOMA T-shirts also being launched the very next day. The LOMA X BXRW range has been seen in the media worn by boxing stars such as Kell Brook[9]
Boxing is love
On November 25th 2016, Boxraw began a journey which would lead them to ‘Boxing is Love’. Initially, Boxraw intended to use 100% of the Black-Friday weekend sale profits to help towards charity projects they had planned in Cuba and Ghana aiming to provide support to disadvantaged youths. However, the success of the weekend led Boxraw to the realisation that charity is not seasonal and needed to be a continuous, year-round effort; Therefore, birthing ‘Boxing is Love’. Now, a portion of all profits go towards this fund and helping Boxraw help others. JD sports is the exclusive UK stockist of Boxraw and officially launched online on 13th of November 2017. Since launch, JD also launched the collections into their new flagship stores in Liverpool and Manchester.
