Boxxer (stylised as BOXXER; previously Ultimate BOXXER) is a UK boxing promotions company and professional boxing tournament series founded by promoter Ben Shalom in 2018.[1] Tournaments follow a three-round elimination format and have been held in various venues in London and Manchester. Tournaments are sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control, which posts results on its website. Since its inception there have been seven Boxxer events, of which the first was on 27 April 2018 and the most recent on 10 November 2020. Veteran boxers Ricky Hatton, Paulie Malignaggi, Shannon Briggs and Anthony Crolla have appeared as presenters and pundits at Boxxer tournaments.[2][3][4]

Shalom has stated that he wanted to "do sports promotion differently"[5] by featuring music performances and celebrity presenters. Entertainers appearing at past Boxxer events include Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth and Big Narstie. Boxxer tournaments have been aired via a variety of traditional and internet media, including BT Sport,[6] ITV4 and 5Spike[7][8][9]

Event format[edit]

Tournaments are held in all weight divisions and usually comprise eight competitors.[10] Each leg consists of three three-minute rounds, after which the loser is eliminated and the winner moves on to the next leg. There are three legs per tournament. Boxxer 7 was an exception, where four competitors fought over two legs.[11] These one-night events also often feature one or more fights on the undercard.
