Early Life
Okenwa David Justin, professionally known as "Boy Raven", is a Nigerian musical artist, singer and songwriter. He was born on the 3rd of May 2005, an indigene of Nnono town in Ikwuano local government area of Abia State, Nigeria. David spent most of his early years outside Africa. For the first four years of his life, he resided in Lathrop, California, in the United States before moving back to Nigeria. He was then raised in the Nigerian city of Port Harcourt. He attended New Bethel Christian Academy in Rivers State before proceeding to Rivers State University. He comes from a musical family; his mum was a singer before she died in 2005.
Career
Boy Raven started off in music as an independent artist. He composed many cover songs and gained a loyal following across social media platforms. This gained him recognition and a contract with an independent record label, Madiq Empire. Where his first single “No Strength” with Lordmoon would be his debut single of his professional career. With more to come from the young talent, the industry would see more projects from the youngster in light of his captivating vocals and lyrical prowess. His music is soon to be published on international music platforms like Spotify, YouTube Music, iTunes, Deezer etc.
Personal Life
Boy Raven and Lordmoon met at an artist group created to promote upcoming and independent talents. In no time, his musical abilities were discovered and he was invited to work with Madiq Empire under an artist distribution contract and publishing deal which would see him take his talents to the international and global stage. Raven has also had a collaboration with the acapella queen Mhercury on a vocal range training which garnered attention on platforms like Instagram and TikTok. At an early stage in his career, Raven has familiarized himself with other independent artists and practices used to promote and better his musical path.
