Brad Baker (broadcaster)
Brad Baker is a British born television and radio broadcaster, who has presented for both BBC and commercial radio in the UK. He is also a performer, who notably sang alongside Patti LaBelle at the O2 Apollo in Manchester, UK, in 2015.
Early Life[edit]
Baker, was born in 1993 and raised in the West Midlands, attending Alder Coppice Primary School and The Dormston Secondary School in Sedgley.[1] His career in front of the camera began at an early age, modelling for catalogues and advertisements including the popular UK brand Next. On stage, he performed in a regional production of The Wizard Of Oz, and in adolescence, was the villain in We Will Rock You. He graduated in the mid-2010s from Staffordshire University's School of Journalism. Prior to this he was a well-known personality on college radio at Halesowen College.
Career[edit]
In 2010, he began presenting the television show Blood, Sweat and Gears (Extreme Sports Channel in the UK and Motors TV across Europe).[2] He lived and worked in Alicante in the southeast of Spain during 2012. in 2013, he held a performance residency at a resort on the island of Mallorca. During 2014-15 he presented a hit music, syndicated weekend breakfast show, which aired to several commercial stations throughout the UK, including Power FM Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.[3] In 2015, he performed alongside Patti LaBelle at the O2 Apollo in Manchester in The Great Voices Of Soul. Showcased artists included The Whispers, Vince Kidd and Meli'sa Morgan. He engaged in conversation with Paul Gambaccini in a radio programme documenting the trauma Operation Yewtree. Baker has appeared regularly on other television and radio programmes. In 2017 he was interviewed about his life and career on UK radio, reciting memories blended with track choices in a programme special.[4]
