Brahmand Nayak is a Marathi TV serial based on the life of Gajanan Maharaj. It is broadcast on the TV channel Fakt Marathi.[3]
Plot[edit]
Gajanan Maharaj, a saint, came to the village of Shegaon in the late 19th century. He was first seen by a man, Bankatlal, during a village feast occasion. In the narrative, Bankatlal sees a man-eating outside, in the same location where all the discarded leaves were placed after use. This man becomes Bankatlal's devotee. In Shegaon, Gajanan Maharaj performs miracles and gains many disciples. He thus becomes a religious guru.

Production[edit]
Brahmand Nayak was created by Ashok Narkar. It is based on biography of Gajanan Maharaj, different Bakhars, and experiences of devotees of Gajanan Maharaj.
- Pre-production - the lead actor of this show Vasant Gogate was a devotee of Shegaon's Gajanan Maharaj. He first heard about Gajanan Maharaj when he was working in Reserve bank as an officer in 1972. As he learned thoughts and teaching of Gajanan Maharaj he became his devotee. For 20 years he taught people about the teaching of Gajanan Maharaj. He was not an actor. He faced first-time movie camera for this show. Vasant Gogate mate with Mi Marathi TV channel officials and kept the idea of making a TV show on the life of Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon. The channel agreed and started filming.
- Principal photography - filming took place at Bhor, Satara, Kolhapur, Natepute, Faltan, Mahswad and Mumbai.[6]
