Brana Dane (born June 30, 1996) is an American supermodel[1][2] and activist.
Career[edit]
Dane is a professional model.[2] She is represented by Genetics Model Management[2] and We Speak in NYC.[2]
Dane has worked for brands such as Maison Margiela, Samantha Sung, Milly, Redken, and Dennis Basso,[2] and has been featured in numerous magazines, including the cover story of Porter magazine (Porter Edit)[3][2] and in Glamour.[2] Dane was shot by photographer Carlotta Guerrero in 2018[2] and was later published in her hardcover book by Prestel.[4]
Dane has walked for NYFW and was highlighted in The Cut.[5][6] In 2015, Dane attended the CFDA Awards with actress Jemima Kirke.[7]
Activism[edit]
Dane is an advocate for the environment and sustainability.[8] Dane was responsible for organizing the NYFW climate strike rallies in 2019 that went viral and were posted in Vogue Brasil.[9] Dane also helped to bring the #metoo movement into the fashion industry. [10] She has worked with supermodel Cameron Russell on multiple political activism campaigns.[11][12] In February 2022, Dane participated in Fashinnovation’s Worldwide talks with Nicole Miller.[1] In the 2019 NYC Earth Day Rally in Union Square, Dane gave a keynote speech.[9][13] She is a founding member of the grassroots movement, the Model Mafia.[14]

Dane was also seen on TV going behind the scenes at NYFW, hosting for the Amazon Prime program, Fashion News Live on FNL Network.[15][16] In February 2022, Dane was seen on the largest TV channel in Switzerland, SRF, in their documentary about the fashion industry.[17][18]
Personal[edit]
Dane grew up in Vancouver, Canada and originally intended to go to St Andrew’s medical school before beginning her career as a model.[9]
