Early Life

Brandie Deignan (born 4th July) is a senior versatile function-agnostic business leader who was Managing Director (MD) at Marco Pierre White Restaurants until January 2021, having previously held senior leadership positions in Aviation, Retail and Hospitality at British Airways plc, Tesco Plc, Whitbread Plc, Travelodge Hotels and Hilton Hotels and Resorts. In January 2021, Brandie joined Primary Care within the NHS www.nhs.uk// as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Pier Health Group Www.pierhealth.co.uk//. Deignan also holds Non-Executive Director roles in Sports.

Career

On graduation from University, www.ed.ac.uk she enrolled on the graduate scheme at Hilton Hotels and Resorts as graduate trainee, later taking roles in Human Resources and then Operations. Brandie has held positions in General, Area, District and Regional Operations Management within the Hospitality Sector at Travelodge Hotels,[1] and Whitbread Plc.[2]

In March 2015, she moved to take a National Operations role in Retail with Tesco Plc as Head of Operations, then later switching over to Aviation leadership to take on a Business Transformation position at British Airways Plc.[3]

In October 2018, Deignan was appointed Managing Director at Marco Pierre White Restaurants making her the first female MD to hold the role in the organisation. As at January 2020, Brandie was the only black female Managing Director (MD) within branded restaurant groups in the UK.

Brandie joined Primary Care within NHS as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Pier Health Group in January 2021, making her the only black female Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a Primary Care Super-partnership in the UK at the time of joining.

Deignan has been named one of the Top 15 BAME high fliers in the Travel Industry.[4]

In early 2020, Brandie was voted no 41 of the Top 50 listening leaders.[5]

In October 2020, Brandie became a finalist at Black British Business Awards 2020, (Consumer & Luxury Senior Leader)[6]

Brandie was also been nominated as Positive Role Model at the National Diversity Awards as well as the She Inspires Award, agent to change category.[7]

Brandie is a published Author of 'The Sector Agnostic Leadership Playbook : Pivoting In Heels'.[8]

Personal Life

Brandie is married to Patric and the couple have twin boys, Bailee and Ryelee [9]. She lives in the South West of England.

Interests

Deignan is passionate about inequalities, the next generation and gender diversity. She is a role model to many young women, mentoring a diverse amount of people. She is an avid contributor for Speakers for schools as well as working many organisations focused on young people. Deignan also has a soft spot for hockey. With a strong passion for Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, Deignan assumes Non Executive Director roles at Basketball England and Wales Golf with an EDI focus on the boards. A non player of both sports, Deignan is famed for saying 'we see better when we are not closer to things'.
