Brant School #84[edit]

Built in 1880 for the cost of $500, the school was located in the Brant District, near present day Argyle, Manitoba (SE 17-14-1E). The construction money was raised by local taxes. Mr. Bruce was given the contract to haul the lumber and hardware from Stonewall, and Mr. Fergusson’s tender to build the school was accepted. The school opened in May 1882 and the first teacher, Miss Curle of Stonewall was paid $30 per month or six months.

The Brant school district was dissolved into Brant Consolidated School (Later Brant-Argyle) October 8, 1913. It was joined by the students at Bruce and McLeod School districts when it consolidated in 1914 in Argyle Station (Argyle Village)

After 1914, the school was purchased by Dick Snell for a home. After John Morrison purchased it and moved it to Argyle Station, it burnt down.
