Breana Marin is an American singer-songwriter.[3] She is best known for her work with Fifth Harmony, Keyshia Cole, and Phora and for music features in Star and Empire.[4] In addition, Marin licenses R&B and Hip hop hooks to independent artists globally.[3]
Background and career
Breana Marin was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, and later moved to Los Angeles where she graduated from the Musicians Institute.[5] From there, she secured placements as a co-writer on the now platinum-selling album Reflection (Fifth Harmony),[6] Back 2 Life (Letoya Luckett),[7] and Point of No Return (Keyshia Cole).[8] Marin later created Love Pulse Music, a collective of songwriters and producers.[9]
Beatstars, a beat licensing platform popular in the producer and indie artist community,[10] transformed how Breana released music. She partnered with producers such as Dreamlife Beats,[11][12][13] Mantra,[14][15] DJ Pain 1, and Young Taylor[16][17] and began selling hip-hop hooks on her Beat Store (Love Pulse Music). Since 2016, Marin has released 180 hooks and became a top-performing artist on Beatstars.[18][19]
Musical style
Breana's music has been described as "uncluttered R&B with Caribbean influences[20] and a mesh between melodious and crystalline."[21]
When asked by Mundane Magazine what inspires her to write her lyrics and storytelling, Marin explained that she writes from real-life experiences and personal perspective. "If something big has just happened to me, I write out the story in my notes and then try to create a melody around what I wrote."[22]
