Brendan Egan
Brendan Egan (born June 27, 2007) is an American semi-professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Hartford Athletic II, the reserve team of Hartford Athletic, a USL Championship club. He is committed to playing collegiate soccer at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth beginning in the fall of 2025.
Early life and youth career
Egan was born and raised in East Granby, Connecticut. He joined Connecticut FC (CFC) in 2017 and played with the club for eight years, developing through their youth system. In 2022, he represented CFC at the ECNL National Tournament, competing against top youth clubs across the country.¹
High school career
Egan attended East Granby High School, where he played varsity soccer all four years. He served as team captain for his junior and senior seasons and led the team in scoring for two consecutive years. In 2024, he was named to the Connecticut All-State Team by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA), received NCCC All-Conference honors, and was selected for the Connecticut Senior Bowl.²³⁴

Hartford Athletic II
In 2025, Egan joined Hartford Athletic II, the U-20 reserve side for Hartford Athletic competing in the UPSL Premier Division. He appeared in multiple league matches, including a full 90-minute performance documented on Modular11, a match analytics platform.⁵⁶
College commitment
In early 2025, Egan committed to attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where he will join the men's soccer program starting in the fall of 2025.⁷
