Early Life
Greene was born in the town of Ballyshannon, Ireland on March 29, 1976[2]. He was brought up in The Curragh Camp[1].
Greene in his early years worked as a Disco Jokey and Photographer[3].
Greene was married for quite long until he got divorced[4].
Education
Greene attend a local school in Ireland itself and completed college as a Fine Arts student through a local college in Ireland[2].
Career
In the early stages of his life Greene worked as Disco Jokey, photographer and web designer[5]. He created “ARMA 2 mod DayZ: Battle Royale” in 2013 while he was in Brazil[6][7]. He worked on a mod for ARMA 3 when DayZ became its own standalone title[8]. Greene was contacted by Sony Online Entertainment (now the Daybreak Game Company) for the mods he had created[8]. Sony brought in Greene as a consultant for their new project named H1Z1[8]. As soon as Greene's contract with Sony expired Chang-han Kim the head of Bluehole Ginno Games contacted Greene and offered him the opportunity to work on a new battle royale concept[9]. Greene became the creative director of Bluehole. Greene was the first foreigner to be selected as a creative director in a Korean company. Development for this game started in early 2016[10][11] with a team of 35 developers but by June, 2017 Greene had 70 developers supporting him[12].
Player Unknowns Battle Ground (PUBG)
PUBG a 2017 Battle Royale game developed by PUBG corporation. Brendan Greene was the director and designer of the game. The game was released in March, 2017 for personal computers via Steam’s early access[13]. The full release was on December 20, 2017. The game received nominations for Game of the Year apart from the other accolades[14].
PUBG made a sum US$11 million in the first three days of Windows early access release[15]. The game also sold over a million copies in April, 2017[16] with sales exceeding US$34 million, making its appearance in the top 10 highest grossing revenue games for the month[17]. After 3 months of the games early release PUBG had already sold over 5 million copies[18] with US$100 million in sales revenue as announced by Bluehole[19]
