Brenton Ragless

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Brenton Ragless (born 19 May 1976) is an Australian television presenter.[1]

Ragless currently co-anchors 9 News Adelaide with Kate Collins on NWS9 in Adelaide.[2]

In addition to the nightly television bulletin, Ragless and Collins also co-anchor a daily lunchtime 9 News bulletin on Adelaide radio station FIVEaa.[3][4]

Originally joining Channel 9 in Adelaide as a weather presenter in 2008 following the retirement of Keith Martyn, Ragless was promoted to co-anchor in 2014.[5][2]

Apart from co-anchoring 9 News Adelaide, Ragless has presented numerous special programs including SA Votes, 55 Years of TV News, Black Tuesday: Rising from the Ashes, SA's Most Wanted and Adelaide's Christmas Pageant.[6][7][8][9][10]

However, Ragless is perhaps best known for his regular appearances as a fill-in co-host for the Nine Network's national breakfast program, Today.[2][11]

Throughout 2018, there was ongoing speculation that Ragless could potentially replace long-serving Today co-host Karl Stefanovic, following several controversies involving Stefanovic which led to the network removing him from the position in December 2018.[12][13][14]

Ragless' media career began in 1994 when he began volunteering at Christian radio station Life FM, a year after graduating from Blackwood High School.[15]

Prior to joining Channel 9, Ragless was a media spokesperson for the South Australian Country Fire Service, and regularly provided comment to the media on various fire and rescue related news stories.[16][17][18]
