Brevard Distance Running Camp
Brevard Distance Running Camp is a running camp based in Brevard, North Carolina. Brevard Distance Running Camp is the largest and longest-running camp in the country![1] The running camp will take you on the majestic trails of mountainous Western North Carolina. Not only will camp members better their endurance, they will take part in dances, games, movies, picnics, and waterfall watching. The camp entails individualized weekly mileage, training pace, and goal setting, along with special coaching clinics.[2] High school runners will be able to interact with runners of all levels, starting from beginners to state and national champions. The camp is known for its amazing variety of running views and food! This camp is open to teams or individuals, or to anyone who wants to get a head start on their cross country season!
Schedule
Runs will vary according to current fitness level. Camp members have an ample amount of free time per day, where they are able to rest up for the day, jump in the creek, play basketball in the gyms, and many other fun activities! Brevard Distance Camp provides fun challenge courses where teammates and individuals will be able to learn the importance of teamwork![3]
- 6:30 am to 7:30 am Run/Aerobics/Zumba
- 7:00 am to 8:30 am Breakfast
- 10:00 am to 11:00 am Learn by Doing/Challenge Courses
- 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Lunch
- Noon to 1:45 pm Recreation
- 1:45 pm to 2:30 pm Learn by Doing/Challenge Courses
- 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm Afternoon Run in Forest
- 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm Dinner
- 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Speakers/Group Sessions
- 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm Free Time/Activities
- 10:30 Lights Out
Camp Facilities
Campers will stay in college dorms. Meals will be served, buffet style, in the college dining hall. Two gyms, an auditorium, weight room, challenge courses, cool mountain stream, and a track are some of Brevard College's facilities that are available to campers.[4]
