Brexit (cat)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Brexit was reported to be a pet cat owned by Nathalie Loiseau, the French Minister for European Affairs who is set to become the top candidate of Emmanuel Macron's party La République En Marche! in the 2019 European Parliament election. Brexit was said to be named for the proposed United Kingdom withdrawal from the European Union, informally known as "Brexit." Brexit received widespread international media coverage in March 2019 due to his name.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Loiseau explained that:

He wakes me up every morning meowing to death because he wants to go out, and then when I open the door he stays put, undecided, and then glares at me when I put him out.[7]

In response to the international coverage, Loiseau clarified that her comments about the cat were intended as a joke and that the cat does not exist.[8]
