Brian Babington (b.1956) is an Australian community development leader, social historian, author, and child and family services advocate. Since 2005 he has been the Chief Executive Officer of Families Australia, a national not-for-profit social policy organisation, and is the Convenor of the National Coalition on Child Safety and Wellbeing.[1][2][3] He is a Director of Plan International Australia[4], Director of Communities@Work (ACT) [5], founding editor of the Indonesian Orphanages Research Hub[6], and author of Bouncing Back[7] and Come Riprendersi dalle Mazzate.[8]
Biography[edit]
Babington was born in Sydney and attended Newington College, the University of Sydney and the Australian National University. He was Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Heritage Commission (1996-2000)[9]. As a diplomat (1981-1996), he represented Australia at the United Nations in New York (1988-1992) and in Rangoon (1982-1984) [10]
