Brian James Evergreen (born October 1, 1988) is an American author, advisor, technologist, and strategist. Evergreen has held leadership positions in artificial intelligence strategy at Microsoft and Accenture, is a Senior Fellow at The Conference Board, and is the author of Autonomous Transformation: Creating a More Human Future in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (2023).[1][2]
Early life and education
Evergreen was born in San Diego, California on October 1, 1988 to a father who was a general contractor and a mother who was a medical laboratory scientist. He grew up competing in international chess tournaments until he retired in 2000.[3] He received a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from Azusa Pacific University.
Career
Evergreen began his corporate career at Accenture, the global management consulting firm based in Dublin, Ireland. He spent two and a half years at Accenture, working in strategy, analytics, and software engineering.
Evergreen went on to build technology practices at boutique consulting firms based in Seattle, Washington, before accepting a leadership position in artificial intelligence strategy at Microsoft, followed by a leadership position in autonomous artificial intelligence at Microsoft Research.
Evergreen is a guest lecturer at the Kellogg School of Management and Purdue University.
In April 2023, Evergreen launched The Profitable Good Company, an advisory company that equips leaders to harness the economic and societal potential of technology by creating a more human future in the era of artificial intelligence.
