Brian Fontaine Snowden (born August 14, 1950) is an American author, educator, and abstract expressionist artist. He has published several novels, including Carnsbury Abbey (2002), A Delicate Imbalance (2011), and On the Precipice of the Labyrinth (2022).[1] Snowden has also worked as a business professor and creates abstract expressionist paintings.[2][3][4]
Early life and education
SSnowden was born in Virginia and grew up in Charlottesville. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Virginia, a Master of International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a PhD in Organizational Behavior and Development from Union Institute & University.[2][4]
Career
Business
Before entering academia, Snowden worked in international business for over two decades, including positions in sales, management, and territory development at companies such as Nortel, Hyster Company, Onan Corporation, and Black Clawson. He worked primarily in North and South America, including Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina.[4]
Academia
Following completion of his doctoral studies, Snowden joined the Cincinnati branch of Wilmington College as an Assistant Professor of Business Administration. During his teaching career, he served on several committees, including the Academic Affairs Committee of the main campus.[5][6]
Writing
Snowden has published three novels:
- Carnsbury Abbey (2002)[7]
- A Delicate Imbalance (2011)[8]
- On the Precipice of the Labyrinth (2022)[9]
His fiction often addresses philosophical and cultural themes. His works have been noted in various publications, including New York Weekly and ForbesPost.
