Brian Foster (farmer)

Brian Foster is a South Australian farmer and former councillor of the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula awarded for his work in climate change adaptation planning. He farms at Coulta[1] and was named District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula's citizen of the year in 1996.[2] Foster's interest in climate change adaptation began after meeting scientist Tim Flannery at a talk held in Port Lincoln.[3] Foster has represented the interests of Eyre Peninsula communities[4] through his membership of the Premier's Climate Change Council[5] and various natural resource management boards and councils,[6][7] including the CSIRO Climate Adaptation Flagship stakeholders group and the Climate Change, Communities and Environment Team established by the University of Adelaide.[8][3][9][10][11][12] In 2013, Foster received the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF) National Climate Champion Individual Award.[5]
