Brian Wermerskirchen (born February 28, 1976 in Lonsdale, Minnesota) is an American politician and former Republican candidate for District 20B in the 2012 Minnesota House of Representatives election in which he lost to Democratic candidate David Bly.

He was born in Lonsdale, Minnesota.
Career
Wermerskirchen is an active member in sales and technical support. He was a Program Specialist for the YMCA Youth in Government Program for 18 years, and previously worked for the Minnesota Senate under Al DeKruif as a legislative assistant.
In 2012, he announced his candidacy to run for the Minnesota House of Representatives District 20B seat under the Republican Party of Minnesota. During the general election, Wermerskirchen (R) was defeated by David Bly (D) who previously held office in District 25A. Neither candidate faced opposition in the primary election.

Education
Wermerskirchen attended the University of Minnesota, Brown Institute, & Metropolitan State University. He then eventually graduated from Brown Institute in 1999 and Metro State University in 2011 achieving a B.A. in History, Certificate in Computer Programming, and worked on completing a Master of Arts Degree.
Personal Life
Brian has a wife named Tory, and two sons, Zach (24) & Alex (19).
