BrickLink is an online marketplace for LEGO products. The website is also a database of LEGO products and an internet forum.
History[edit]
BrickLink was founded by Daniel Jezek in 2000.[1] The website started operation on June 19, 2000.[2] Originally named "BrickBay", the site was renamed to BrickLink after receiving a cease and desist letter from eBay due to the use of "Bay" in the name.[3][4]
After Daniel Jezek's tragic death in 2010, his parents collaborated with Eric Smith, the host of the website, to keep it operational using Jezek's pre-written instructions.[5] In 2013, the website was sold to Jung-Ju “Jay” Kim, founder of Nexon, and was transferred to BrickLink Limited, a subsidiary of NXMH.[6][7]
On November 26, 2019, BrinkLink Limited was acquired by the Lego Group with over 1.1 million users at the time of the acquisition.[8]
