Brooke Lynn Hytes is a Canadian drag queen, performer, dancer and television personality. She is best known for being a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11..[1]

Career[edit]

Brooke Lynn Hytes was born in Ontario, Canada, growing up in Scarborough. She attended Canada’s National Ballet School for five years before dancing as a principal ballerina with “Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo”, an all male, comedic drag ballet company.[2]. Brooke Lynn’s experience as a drag ballerina translated into drag pageantry when in 2013 she was named the Derby City Entertainer of the year. In 2014 she went on to be crowned Miss Continental, a highly prestigious title in the drag pageant world[3]. In 2015, Brooke Lynn accepted a position as one of the renowned Playmates at Play Dance Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. Working there provided Brooke Lynn with the experience she needed to hone her skills before becoming a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11.

As the first Canadian contestant of RuPaul’s Drag Race, Brooke Lynn has achieved her goal of bringing Canadian drag into the global spotlight. Having won multiple challenges and placing highly in many others, she has quickly emerged as one of the frontrunners of the season. As the eleventh season continues to unfold, Brooke Lynn has become known for excelling on the runway thanks to her polished looks and dancerly performances on the main stage.Her runway performance on Episode 8 blew up online, going down in Drag Race history as one of the most legendary reveals on the show[4].

Since appearing on Drag Race, Brooke Lynn has gone on to gain extensive media attention. The Canadian Government’s official Twitter account even mentioned her in a congratulatory tweet.
