Brooklyn Railway Station

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

db-self

Brooklyn railway station is a goods platform located in Brooklyn, Melbourne, Victoria. The platform is part of the Newport-Sunshine railway. There are no plans currently to electrify the line and make it a suburban station. 'The overland' is the only passenger-carrying service to pass through. The Brooklyn SG station is across the level crossing.

History[edit]

The platform opened in 1887, though the line did not continue to Tottenham until 1965. It was at this point that Brooklyn became a through station. The station is bypassed by the dual gauge track, which Brooklyn SG caters for.
