Directed and choreographed by Donna Feore from a book by Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor, “Bruce” the musical debuted Off-Broadway on June 1, 2022 at the Seattle Rep Theater after previews on May 27, 2022, with an engagement through June 26. The production was originally set to premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse theater in Milburn, New Jersey on June 9, 2021 to July 4 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[1] On June 13, 2022, after closing the previews, the musical got an extended run until July 3.[2]
Cast & Crew[edit]
On March 21, 2022, it was announced that Jarrod Spector was set to portray Steven Spielberg, and the crew was comprised of scenic designer Jason Sherwood, costume designer Tina McCartney, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Brian Hsieh, projection designer Shawn Duan, with music direction by Lily Ling, and orchestrations and music supervision by Greg Anthony Rassen.[3] On March 21, 2022, the cast rollout was announced with Hans Altwies, Eric Ankrim, David Benoit, Preston Truman Boyd, E. Faye Butler, Beth DeVries, Candice Song Donehoo, Jay Donnell, Alexandria J. Henderson, MJ Jurgensen, Justin Keyes, Ramzi Khalaf, Corinna Lapid Munter, Timothy McCuen Piggee, Cullen R. Titmas, Brenna Mikale Wagner, Matt Wolfe, Geoff Packard, Napoleon Maurice Douglas and his understudy Kyle Nicholas Anderson, Brian Lange, and Sarah Rose Davis.[2]
