Bryan Brulotte (born in Kingston on October 31, 1964) is a Canadian businessman based in Ottawa, Canada. He is presently CEO and Chairman of MaxSys Staffing & Consulting, and Honorary Colonel of the Governor General Foot Guards (GGFG).

Family and Education

Bryan is the son of Fernand Brulotte and his wife Fleur-Ange Brulotte. He is married to Kaitlin Brulotte (née. Marriner) and they have two daughters, Kara and Erica.

Bryan was educated at Cedar Street Elementary School, and Richelieu Valley Regional High School on the South Shore of Montreal. He holds a BA Hon in Military Strategic Studies from the College Militaire Royal (CMR), a Masters in History from Carleton University, an MBA from the University of Ottawa, and a Doctorate in Business from William Howard Taft University.

Career

Bryan’s interest in the military came from his father who was a non-commissioned officer in the Canadian Army. He joined the Army Cadets in 1978 and was accepted as an Officer Cadet at CMR in August of 1982.

In 1987, upon graduation from CMR, Bryan was posted to Lahr Germany and joined the 1st Battalion Royal 22e Regiment (R22eR) as infantry rifle platoon commander.

In 1990, he was appointed as the Aide de Camp to the Governor General of Canada, Ramon John Hnatyshyn. He served at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.

In 1992, he was posted to the 3rd Battalion R33eR as Officer Commanding Reconnaissance Platoon. He conducted operations in Canada and was deployed to the Middle East on peace keeping operations.

In 1993, he retired from the Regular Army and joined the Supplementary Army Reserves. He was appointed as a deputy Chief of Staff to the Honorable Paul Dick, Minister of Public Works Government Services Canada

In 1994, having lost the federal election, Bryan launched a start-up staffing firm which became MaxSys Staffing and Consulting. Concurrently, he played active volunteer roles in the Federal Progressive Conservative party and later the Conservative party. These were primarily as a fundraiser and political organizer.

In 2000, he ran unsuccessfully for Federal Parliament as Progressive Conservative candidate in the riding of Lanark-Carleton.

In 2007, he joined the Primary Army Reserves as an infantry officer with the GGFG and commanded number 1 Rifle Company from 2011 – 2012.

In 2013, he became the Honorary Colonel of the GGFG. This is a role he currently occupies.

Today, Bryan is the CEO and Chairman of MaxSys. A veteran owned staffing firm in the country.

Community Involvement

Bryan, has served on numerous boards including, Saint John’s Ambulance, the Royal 22e Regiment, and the PC Canada Fund. He currently sits on the boards of the Royal Canadian Military Institute, Robert Land Academy, and the Canadian Club of Ottawa.

He is a parishioner of Saint Bartholomew’s Church in Ottawa.

He is a member of several clubs including the Guards Club, Thomas Ross Club, the RMC Ex Club, the St James Club of Montreal, the Rideau Club of Ottawa, and the Royal Canadian Military Institute,

MaxSys a generous contributor to charity. It actively donates over $400,000 a year to veteran causes and military community advocacy.

Honors and Awards

In 1985 Bryan was recognized as the Top Candidate in Canada of the Phase 3 Infantry Course.

In 1987 Bryan was awarded the Sword of Honor as top graduate of the College Militaire Royal.

In 1992 Bryan was a recipient of the Canada 125 medal.

In 2002 Bryan was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Gold Jubilee Medal.

In 2003 Bryan was recognized as one of Ottawa’s Top 40 under 40 in Ottawa.

In 2009 Bryan was a recipient of the Canadian Forces Decoration.

In 2012 Bryan was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

In 2019 Bryan was inducted as a Knight into the Order of Saint Joachim.

From 2001 to present, MaxSys has received numerous business excellence awards from the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, Profit Magazine Archived 2019-10-01 at the Wayback Machine, and has been recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.
