Bryan Genesse

Bryan V. Genesse (born 20 March 1964) is a Canadian actor, author and martial artist that acted in a few low-budget action films in 1990s and early 2000s. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He specializes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and got his black belt under Master Jean Jacques Machado. He started his own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy, Venom BJJ, where he combines it with nogi, self-defense, Muay Thai kicks and Hung-Gar attacks and footwork.

Introduction to acting

Genesse's acting career started with the series The Bold and The Beautiful, in which he plays Rocco Carner, a recurring character. When he was in Italy, for publicity work for the series, he was informed by his agent from Los Angeles about an audition for a new Stephen J. Channel series with Carl Weathers.He returned to Los Angeles for the audition and immediately returnrd to Rome for the publicity. A few weeks after the audition, the producers called with the offer to co-star alongside Weathers, in what became the action crime drama series Street Justice.

Since then, he has appeared in over 15 low-budget action films, including the 1995 TV sequel to Live Wire, Live Wire 3: Human TimeBomb and Operation Delta Force 3: Clear Target, an entry in the Operation Delta Force series of films, and Cold Harvest, a low-budget sci-fi martial arts western, starring Gary Daniels and Barbara Crampton.

End of Career

Genesse's career as an action came to an end after the filming of Fire (2005), where his leg gets hyperextended and his left hamstring gets ripped in a stunt accident involving a judo flip. He was enabled to walk again only after surgery and physical therapy. Genesse actively competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competitions, since 2009.
