Bryan Ida is an artist in Los Angeles, California. He has done many artworks for many art galleries from 1995 onward. He started as a musician before becoming an artist. Ida's artworks have been popular in some places around the world and even in Los Angeles.

Ida's artworks often include writing, but it can be transformed into art and even paintings. Some of his artworks were sent to Europe, the United States, New York, Los Angeles, and Taiwan, as well as Asia. They were sent to galleries and museums. The shows and galleries he participated in included the Japanese American Museum San Jose, Museum of Art and History, Lancaster, Torrance Art Museum, Riverside Art Museum, Oceanside Art Museum, Triton Museum, and the MOCA, Los Angeles, Long Beach Museum of Art.

Some of his artworks are part of a series, such as the "Environment Series." It’s a series about mankind’s endless demand for energy and expansion in the name of human advancement. The series involves power dynamics between animal species and the environment. The environment project features nature, trees, and landscapes piled on top of each other. It teaches people about the world around them and the future of nature for the next generation. Ida even addresses climate change in the environment and some remains unknown.

Early life and education

Bryan Ida was born on March 23, 1963, in Palo Alto, California. He was drawn to music at an early age. Music was a passion; he began playing French Horn when he was young. Ida played in the El Camino Youth Symphony and school orchestras. He was skilled in music and continued seeking techniques, which led to an interest in electronic music in high school. In his studies at San Jose State University and Sonoma State University, Ida studied electronic music.

In 1988, Ida worked for Sam Francis as an abstract painter. A long-standing and close friendship developed between himself and Sam’s children.

Throughout the years, Ida's art has been published throughout California. Some of his art was sent to New York, NY; Yokohama, Japan; Taipei, Taiwan; Honolulu, HI; Bogota, Colombia; Chihuahua, Mexico; Natali, Finland; Kyoto, Japan; Tokyo, Japan; and Provincia di Frisone, Italy.

Ida still creates artworks today. An upcoming exhibition will be held from May 25, 2023 – September 9, 2023, at the Bakersfield Museum of Art, along with a group show in “The Circle of Sam: The California-Based Studios of Sam Francis.”

In short, Ida started his creative life as a child playing music, which led to studying electronic music. Along with music, he studied this in college. After working as an abstract painter for Sam Francis, Ida transformed his expression from aural to visual, beginning his painting career as an artist.
