Bryce Elden McCormick was an American aviator who was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 96 saving all passengers.

Emergency Landing[edit]

An American Airlines DC-10-10, sister aircraft to the one involved in the accident.

On 12 June 1972, he was a pilot of American Airlines Flight 96. American Airlines Flight 96 was a regular domestic flight operated by American Airlines from Los Angeles to New York via Detroit and Buffalo. On 12 June 1972, the left rear cargo door of the McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 operating the flight blew open and broke off en route between Detroit and Buffalo above Windsor, Ontario but he was able to return back to Detroit Airport.

Retirement[edit]

He was retired at 1980.

Death[edit]

McCormick died at 8 April 1997 at the age of 77. He was died by a Traffic Collision. He suffered fatal injuries.
