Bug Hunter is an American band based in Seattle, formed by singer-songwriter Cody "Bug" Hunter in 2014. The band consists of Cody Hunter (lyrics, vocals, guitar), Kyle Hodgkinson (drums), and Jesse Gallaway (various instruments).[1]
The band has released two albums (Torn Between a Couple, and The Rough Draft), with a third untitled album scheduled for release in 2020. The first album, Torn Between a Couple, was recorded in Bug's closet, and released in 2017.[2] The Rough Draft was recorded in studio following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2018 and was released later the same year.[3] A second Kickstarter was run in January 2020 to fund a third album's studio recording costs. This closed with 150% of the funding and 240 backers.[4]
The band is best known for the single Dear McCracken (later re-released as a track on The Rough Draft). The song has over 1.75 million plays on Spotify, as well as a fan-made animation featuring a cover of the song which has over 300 thousand views.[5]
