Building Giants is a rock band formed in late 2016 in Preston, England. The band consists of Joe Flynn (lead singer, bass guitar), Tom Woodburn (guitar and backing vocals), Matt Murphy (guitar), and Huw Pearson (drums, backing vocals). They gained recognition for their energetic live performances and have garnered a dedicated fanbase across the country.
History
Building Giants quickly caught the attention of music critics and fans with their early releases, which led to their first UK tours. Initially performing in front of bar staff, the band gradually built a following and started playing at renowned venues such as the O2 Academies, Dublin Castle, and Bannermans in Edinburgh. Their captivating shows earned them a reputation as a truly dazzling and sublime act in modern rock, as hailed by BBC Introducing.
The band's early success also secured them spots at prominent festivals including Kendal Calling, Camden Rocks, and Highest Point. However, their momentum was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the cancellation of numerous live events and tours.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Building Giants utilized the time to reinvent and modernize their sound. Collaborating with Grammy-Award-Winning Producer Adrian Bushby, known for his work with renowned acts such as Foo Fighters, Maximo Park, Tiger Cub, and Muse, the band returned with a more modernized sound. The release received substantial support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, propelling the band to new heights. Within a month of its release, the album amassed over 100,000 listens on Spotify, introducing Building Giants to a broader audience and expanding their fanbase.
Building Giants recently completed their third UK tour, which proved to be a resounding success with sold-out shows across the country. The band's relentless drive and growing popularity hint at even bigger accomplishments on the horizon.
