Bulwark Studios is a French video game developer founded in 2012 and based in Angoulême[2].

The studio specializes in Strategy and City-building games.

History

Bulwark Studios was founded in 2012 by Emmanuel Monnereau and Jérémy Guéry, two former web developers. During the first years of the studio, they developed and released several mobile games on the App Store, without much success[3].

In 2014, Bulwark released the game Crowntakers with Kasedo Games, a subsidiary of the German publisher Kalypso Media.

Between 2014 and 2016, the studio performed various services for mobile games.

In February 2018, Bulwark announced the release of the game Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus[4]. The game released in November 2018. An expansion, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus - Heretek[5] was released in July 2019.

In June 2021 during E3, the studio announced Ixion at the PC Gaming Show, a space station management game to be released in 2022[6]

In 2021, the game publisher Kasedo Games became the majority shareholder of Bulwark Studios [7]
