Burel (fabric)

Burel is a traditional portuguese fabric made of wool. This fabric was traditionally used by shepherds and friars in Serra da Estrela.[1] Burel is rough and thick fabric making it particularly durable and warm.
History[edit]
Burel is a medieval fabric, going back to 12th century. It was used by franciscan monks.[2]
