Burel (fabric)

Burel is a traditional Portuguese fabric made of wool. This fabric was traditionally used by shepherds and friars in Serra da Estrela.[1] Burel is a rough and thick fabric, making it particularly durable and warm.
History
Burel is a medieval fabric, going back to the 12th century. It was used by Franciscan monks.[2]
