Burger Boy

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Burger Boy was a Mexican fast food chain that was popular in Mexico, throughout the 1970’s-1980’s. In 1974, CEO, Roberto González Barrera, Of Grupo Industrial Maseca, bought the company. The chain was most famous for marketing dinosaur burgers and toys, along with various crazy straws. When McDonald’s entered Mexico in 1985, Burger Boy began to struggle and close a couple of its locations. Sooner or later, in 1994 Burger Boy remodeled its menu a little and in 1996, the franchise was sold to the San Antonio based, Whataburger. Then, Burger Boy closed the last of its locations in Mexico. In 2015, Burger Boy was planning to return to Mexico and by selling meat products in retail stores, while planning to open restaurants in Mexico City in 2017, which did not happen due to many disagreements between Burger Boy's directives.

The Burger Boy brand was put for sale in 2022 after failing to return to Mexico for more than 6 years. However, there is still no information about when or if Burger Boy will ever return to Mexico.
