The Group employs 3,000 people in 61 companies around the world.[2]

History

Busch Vacuum Pumps and Systems was founded in 1963 by Dr.-Ing. Karl Busch and his wife Ayhan in Schopfheim (Baden-Württemberg, Germany). Busch developed the "Huckepack", which was the first vacuum pump that could be used for vacuum packaging of food products. With the follow-up product, the rotary vane vacuum pump "R 5", the company became a global player in the field of vacuum packaging.[3]

In 1968, Busch moved his company headquarters to Maulburg, where it expanded over the following years. In 1971, Busch founded his first overseas company in the UK and had a presence in China since 1978. Production facilities were established in the US and Switzerland during 1979 and 1980. Busch currently has companies operating in 43 countries worldwide.[4]

In 2013 Busch celebrated its 50th company anniversary. Busch has held shares in Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG since 2015.[5]
