Bushwick Daily is an independent, hyperlocal news publication based in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick. Five days a week, Bushwick Daily publishes articles on community issues, events, food, art, culture, and politics in the neighborhoods of Bushwick, East Williamsburg, and Ridgewood.[1]

Bushwick Daily was founded in 2010 by Katarina Hybenova, a Slovakian Immigrant,[2] and acquired by its current publisher and owner Alec Meeker in 2018.[3]

Considered a "Community and Ethnic Media" publication by the City of New York,[4] Bushwick Daily was listed as the number-one New York City neighborhood website by Thrillist in 2017[5] and as one of the top New York City neighborhood blogs by Brick Underground in 2014,[6] 2015,[7] 2016,[8] 2017,[9] 2018,[10] and 2019.[11] Bushwick Daily has been quoted and sourced by a range of national publications including The New York Times,[12] Rolling Stone,[13] Gothamist,[14] New York Magazine,[15] and others. In 2021, three Bushwick Daily journalists were awarded fellowships by the City University of New York's (CUNY) Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism to cover the citywide elections.[16]
