Bushwick Film Festival

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Bushwick Film Festival is an annual, Brooklyn based, independent film festival founded in 2007 by Kweighbaye Kotee, a Liberian born, NY raised entrepreneur, talk show host, writer and filmmaker. Under her leadership, The Bushwick Film Festival has grown from a small community organization to one of Brooklyn’s strongest cinematic events. In 2015, ticket sales doubled, film submissions increased by 74% and international submissions by 20% hailing from 28 countries[1]

The 4-day event exhibits independent film and media and its programming runs year round with classes, workshops and content distributed via digital and broadcast networks. The festival receives and showcases submissions, either full-length features, documentaries, or short films, from many countries around the world. The festival presents four award categories: Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best Short Film and Best Web series.

Winning films and projects receive consultation on development, distribution and audience outreach for their next projects. Each award package is valued at 4,000 USD, according to last year’s awards.
