Butwal Lumbini FC
Butwal Lumbini FC is a franchise football club participating in Nepal Super League (NSL). Nepal Super League is the first franchise-based football tournament in Nepal commencing its first edition in 2021. There are seven teams participating in the first edition of the Nepal Super League namely 1. Biratnagar City Football Club, 2. Butwal Lumbini Football Club, 3. Dhangadi Football Club, 4. Football Club Chitwan, 5. Kathmandu Rayzers Football Club, 6. Lalitpur City Football Club, and 7. Pokhara Thunders Football Club.
History[edit]
The club was formed in March 2021 before kick-off Nepal Super League the first-ever franchise football league in Nepal under the supervision of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Season 2021[edit]
Season 2021, was a mixed season for Butwal Lumbini FC. The club started the league with a win and drew a couple of subsequent matches, lost a couple of matches then after, and finally defeated table topper to reach the qualifier. The club was eliminated from the 2021 season of NSL after a defeat by Lalitpur City FC in Qualifier.
