Byron Gibson
Byron Gibson is an English actor from Cambridge, England. A former construction worker, street market trader, Thai boxing coach, and professional fight promoter. He was the first person to promote and establish Muay Thai shows in Cambridge in the 1990s, with former ITV Saturday Grandstand wrestling star Steve Logan. His Thai boxing school, called "Cambridge Surprendre Thaiboxing Gym", housed three Professional Muay Thai Champions and was one of the first gyms to supply an English fighter for a cage fight in the late 1990s in Italy.
Known for his gritty acting style, he entered the movie business in 2008 when Jean-Claude Van Damme cast him as a gangster in The Eagle Path, also known as Full Love. He worked on The Hangover Part 2 in a bar fight in the flashback scenes with a young Bradley Cooper. Photos from the scene were used in the end credits photo montage. He is known for the controversial torture scene in Only God Forgives, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. Nicolas liked his name 'Byron' so much that he named the character in the film after him instead of 'Dimitri'. In 2015, he completed two lead roles in "Asian Connection" with Steven Seagal and "Brutal" with David Belle for Studio + France.
