CKYZ-FM is a new[1] ethnic community radio station based in Winnipeg. The station is test broadcasting an east indian[2] format at 50 watts.
The 92.9 MHz frequency was previously occupied by CKIC-FM, an alternative rock station that went off the air in early 2012 due to a new ruling by the CRTC that stated campus radio stations in Canada must allow for community access similar to a community radio station.
