COSMOS 1161898 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the Sextans constellation. It has a redshift of 0.54, equal to a distance of 5.3 billion light-years. This galaxy is part of a study of more than 2,000 spiral galaxies from a galaxy census conducted by the Advanced Camera for Surveys aboard NASA's Hubble Space Telescope. The observations are part of the Cosmic Evolution Survey (COSMOS).[1]
