CTrend software

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

CTrend is a software designed for the analysis of centrifugal compressors performance maps and the thermodynamic prediction of the machine's new and off-design operating conditions. The reference map of the compressor is first translated into an invariant characterization upon which multivariate interpolation is applied in order to adapt the performance map to off-design cases. The procedure used relies upon the turbomachinery principle of similitude. Mathematical methods and algorithms underlying such interpolation works include:

  • Linear multi-variable regression applied to 2D scattered data (piecewise linear interpolation),
  • Non linear multi-variable regression applied to 2D scattered data,
  • Artificial neural networks (multilayer feedforward) applied to regression.

CTrend uses accurate real gas equations of state in order to compute the compressor polytropic head; these are based on the Helmholtz free energy framework which are the subject of the ISO-20765 industrial ISO standard.
