Ashok Kumar C V (born 22 November 1990), known professionally as Samrat Ashok Kumar, is an Indian actor, writer and director who primarily works in Kannada films. Ashok Kumar C V made his film debut with Hare Rama Hare Krishna (2011). For his direction in the 2011 film Hare Rama Hare Krishna, he received many best director award and was also nominated in the Best Director category at the Filmfare Awards (South) and SIIMA Awards.SIIMA - Kannada nomination.

Early life
Ashok Kumar CV was born on 22 November 1990 in Bangalore,Karnataka. His late father Chinna Venkata was a lineman at KPTCL. His mother jayamma chinna Venkata is a homemaker. He completed engineering in electronics and communication, M.Tech in VLSI, and embedded systems from BMS College. [1]
Career
Early work (2008-2009)
Since there were a lot of struggles in his life during that time, Ashok Kumar CV started his career as an IT professional at Accenture. After a year, he didn't find passion as an IT professional and again started his career as a dialogue writer as his strength was writing. With hard work, within a year, he became a writer, assistant director, and director. He was an assistant director for the movies Bidda, O Manase, Poojari, Hubballi. After a few months, he approached legendary Ilayaraja and Hamsalekha. Because of his sharp dialogue delivery and storytelling, they recognized his talent, and he believed that he could make a difference in the Kannada industry and he officially started his career as a director.
Directorial debut and success (2011-present)
Ashok Kumar debuted in Kannada cinema with the action-psychological thriller Hare Rama Hare Krishna, a 2011 Indian-Kannada-language film directed by him, starring Srimurali and Pooja Gandhi. It became a superhit sensation; its theatrical run lasted for over 150 days.
A critic from Bangalore Mirror wrote, "Then Ashok Kumar takes the film to a moralistic - cinematic heights by saying that all that was shown in the film never happened and Murali did not take up the 'job' of a rowdy. It was only a dream". B S Srivani from Deccan Herald wrote "But the second half, trudging on an expected track, kicks up a frantic pace. But that is until the audience realizes that it has been had. A smart move from the director, but in a lost cause". A critic from News18 India wrote "Veteran actors Achyuth Kumar, Siddaraj Kalyan Kumar, Kari Subbu, Mico Nagaraj, Padmavasanthi have done a decent job, but it has not helped the film in any way. The film is bad enough to keep the audience out of the theaters. Avoid it".
