Cackle Hatchery
Cackle hatchery is the largest provider of residential(hobby/backyard) chickens in the United States, hatching about 250,000 baby birds per week. Cackle Hatchery is a registered company name and owns the trademark of "Got Chicks"[1]. Cackle Hatchery is a family owned and operated business located in Lebonan Missouri that has been shipping poultry through the mail since 1936.[2]
Practices[edit]
Cackle Hatchery ships chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and some other minor bird species. They specialize in producing birds and animal husbandry supplies for sale to backyard poultry keepers, hobby farmers, and people who are interested in competing with their birds at poultry shows. Cackle Hatchery produces 200 different breeds and varieties, including standard and heritage breeds.
