Early Life[edit]

Caleb Davis was born in Jackson, Mississippi and moved to Madison, Mississippi when he was 6. He attended Madison Central High School and led them to an MHSAA Class 6A Soccer Championship in February 2021, scoring the game-winning penalty kick against Brandon High School. [1] He competed in the ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) during the 2021-2022 season.

Career[edit]

High School[edit]

A four-year Varsity player, Davis made his biggest impact during his junior and senior years at Madison Central.

In his junior year, he scored 4 goals and had 3 assists. Davis brought home the MHSAA Class 6A Soccer Championship to Madison Central after scoring the winning penalty kick.[2]

Davis missed a large portion of his senior season due to competing in the ECNL; however, he managed to accomplish many things in the small number of games he had. He scored 8 goals and had 1 assist in only 13 games for the Jaguars. Davis was nominated for SB Live's Mississippi Athlete of the Week award multiple times. In November, Davis had a hot start to the season. He scored 2 goals in the season opener against the Brandon Bulldogs and had 1 goal and 1 assist against West Lauderdale in the following game.[3] This put him on the ballot for SB Live's Mississippi Athlete of the week for November 8-14.[4]. Davis missed almost a month of the season before returning to action against the Brandon Bulldogs again, as well as the Clinton Arrows in the first district matchup between the two schools. He came on as a sub in both matches after missing almost a month of the season. Davis returned to action for the Jaguars for the remainder of the season after the Christmas break. He came out of the break scoring a hat trick against Germantown High School in his first game back and followed it with a goal to ice the game against Center Hill High School 2-0. [5] This performance once again earned him a spot on the ballot for SB Live's Mississippi Athlete of the week for January 3-9. [6]. Due to his performances against Germantown and Center Hill, Davis won the Athlete of the Week award for the Clarion-Ledger. [7] Davis was also nominated to SB Live's All-State Team. [8]

Caleb concluded his high school soccer career with a 5-4 win in the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Game at Brandon High School. Caleb represented Madison Central on Team North.[9]

ECNL[edit]

He began his ECNL career in May of 2020 after signing a discovery player contract with Alabama FC. This move eventually paved the way to helping Davis become the most heavily recruited male soccer player from Mississippi ever. Alabama FC plays in the Southeast Conference of the ECNL. In his only ECNL season, Davis played in 21 regular-season conference games. He scored 7 goals and tallied 5 assists. In the ECNL South Carolina National Event (December 2021), Davis played in all 3 games. He scored 1 goal and had 3 assists.

Lee University[edit]

Caleb announced his verbal commitment to Lee University on December 18, 2021. He officially signed his National Letter of Intent on February 9th, 2022.[10] Davis spoke with members of the media following his signing. [11]
