Summary | |
California has banned seventeen states from state-funded travel because of laws that discriminate against members of the LGBTQ community |
Effects[edit]
Some trips, such as those required to execute California law or to perform commitments signed before the states were added to the list, are exempted under the state legislation. Conference travel and out-of-state training are two examples of excursions that might be canceled. The impact of California's travel restriction is still unknown. Bonta does not know how many state agencies had ceased sending state personnel to the states on the list, or how much money California's travel restriction has cost those states.[1]
