Camlough Athletic Football Club is an amateur football club from the village of Camlough, who compete in the Lonsdale League. Camlough AFC were founded in early 2018 and was established by a group of friends after their reserve team had folded midway through the 2017-18 season, they managed to see out the remainder of the season, with thanks to help from the Lonsdale League Committee who allowed the team a few weeks grace on playing games which led to the new club being founded (Camlough AFC).
They club look to furthermore their successes by continuing to compete in the Lonsdale League going into the 2018-19 season for the first time as a new club after narrowly gaining promotion from the second tier to compete in the First Division.

The players originally played for a club but after a dispute and folding of their reserve team, discussions to form a new club began in January 2018. In February 2018, it was officially announced that Camlough A.F.C. would be a new club and would not be a part of any set up got to do with their evicting club. New club Camlough AFC would now play their home games at a local ground known as Jennings Park, located in Newry beside the new Leisure Centre.

Season 2017-18[edit]
During the 2017-18 season, Camlough AFC suffered a massive hiccup because of the 'situation' but thanks to the Lonsdale League Committee, they helped the team and allowed them to get back on their feet to continue on with their season and to only just narrowly miss out on the Division 2 league title by 1 point to title contenders Armagh Rovers, but the Camlough men can still hold their heads up high as they still managed to gain promotion into Division 1 after finishing second placed. Camlough AFC can now focus fully on themselves going into the 2018-19 season knowing they are one club and will hope to get a successful preseason under their belt to help them in their stride to success and gain some silverware in the upcoming season.
