Camp Barney Medintz[edit]

[1]==Location== Camp Barney Medinztz is Located in Cleveland, Gerogia which is a about a two hours drive from Atlanta. It is located near a camp of a similar nature called Camp Coleman. There are two lakes on the property:(both manmade) Lake Wendy and Lake Lewis.

Backing[edit]

The Camp is backed by Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta[2]. They fund the camp on a base level whilst directing kids towards joining.

Jewish Roots[edit]

Though the camp allows all faiths to come and join, it promotes Jewish Values and spreads the Jewish Faith. There are services every weekend, during the two sessions. These go for three weeks in June and tree weeks in July. The exact starting and ending dates change year by year. The funding coming from the local JCC also plays into the jewish aspect of the camp. The camp offers many activities outside of the Jewish Realm, but the roots are an important part of the Camp's Identity.

How it is Structured[edit]

In third grade, parents can send their children for a shortened two weeks. This unit is known as Kochavim. Each of the grade level is considered a new unit, except for Rishonim, which houses some third and fourth graders.
