Can You Duet was an American reality-competition show on CMT. The show was produced by FremantleMedia, the same company that produces American Idol. It premiered on April 14, 2008, and ended after two seasons in June 2009.[1]
Sixwire performed as the house band with Steve Mandile as musical director. The show was cancelled after two seasons.
Seasons[edit]
Season One (2008)[edit]
Hosted by Rossi Morreale, the judges were Naomi Judd, Brett Manning, and Aimee Mayo.[2]
The winners were Caitlin Lynn and William Snyder, followed by Nick Brownell and Jeremiah Richey. Rory and Joey Feek finished third.[3]
Caitlin & Will, Kate & Kacey Coppola, and Joey + Rory signed record deals. Joey + Rory released multiple albums and had chart success.[4]
Lewis Brice is the brother of Lee Brice.[5]
Season Two (2009)[edit]
Auditions began on March 7, 2009, with over 5,000 participants. Naomi Judd returned as a judge, and Lance Smith became the new host.[6]
The winners were Meghan Linsey & Josh Jones, who signed with Big Machine Records and released several charting singles. The Stellas and O'Shea also found success in their home countries.[7]
