Canadarm 3, also known as Next Generation Large Canadarm, is a robotic arm being developed by the Canadian Space Agency for use on the Lunar Orbital Platform-Gateway Lunar Space station.[1][2]. It will be launched to the station on board the Artemis 6 mission sometime in the 2020s. Once installed, it will start repairing and servicing the station when needed, as well as helping with further construction of the station[3]
Development
Canadarm 3 is based on Canadarm 2, which is currently used for a similar purpose on the International Space Station. Canadarm 2 itself is developed from Canadarm, which was used on NASA's Space Shuttle.
